DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a sofa, a chair and an ottoman to give away. Everything is in good condition, has no stains and has been in a pet-free home. Goodwill and the Salvation Army are not taking furniture at this time. I contacted Maine Immigration Services and Habitat Restore, but have not heard from them. Does anyone have any suggestions? –Cathy in Lewiston
ANSWER: Have you tried a local church or children’s center? They may need the furniture or know a family who could use it.
Portland Catholic Charities can also help you place furniture in a family. Contact them at 781-8550 or [email protected]
