Caltrans to Hold Large Item Dump Day in Gualala – The Mendocino Beacon

Caltrans, Mendocino County and Solid Waste of Willits will host a free large item dump day. This Dump Day event is part of Governor Newsom’s $1.1 billion Clean California initiative, which makes this event possible, as well as other educational and waste prevention events taking place throughout the state. Residents are encouraged to properly dispose of bulky and unwanted items.

The Free Large Object Dump Day will be held at the South Coast Transfer Station at 0855 Fish Rock Road, Gualala on Saturday 25th June from 10.00am to 2.00pm or until capacity is reached.

This Free Dump Day collection is limited to furniture, appliances, tires (limit 9 per load) and other large and bulky household items. No building materials, business waste, electronic waste, mattresses, hazardous waste, treated wood waste or asbestos of any type will be accepted. Clean California Dump Days are open to all area residents.

This is part of a series of Dump Days planned for Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake and Mendocino counties. Future events include the communities of Crescent City and Blue Lake. Don’t forget to secure your cargo.

Dump Day events are held to advance the Department’s goal of keeping California’s highways and waterways waste-free as part of the Clean California initiative.
