Black friday 2021: dates, offers and more to know
The Friday after Thanksgiving, also known as “Black Friday,” is the annual shopping extravaganza that officially kicks off the holiday shopping season. The name dates back to the 1960s when Philadelphia police coined the phrase to describe the shopping spree.
Black Friday was initially relegated to in-store and catalog shopping until the internet came to make things more convenient. Black Friday is a great time to stock up on discounted TVs, smartphones, tablets, headphones and other tech gadgets, as well as toys, appliances, housewares, clothes, shoes, books, etc. films and many more. Black Friday is the first big shopping day of the holiday season before Cyber Monday (November 29) and Cyber Week (which begins Cyber Monday).

What are the best places to shop for Black Friday?
Amazon – Buyers can usually find just about anything on Amazon. The site (and the app) has an easy-to-use search bar, or you can browse Amazon’s curated home page to find deals and more. Brands like Apple, Sony, and Microsoft have Amazon stores, which makes Amazon a great alternative when you can’t find an item on the manufacturer’s website. Plus, Amazon Prime members get free two-day shipping on most items (if you’re not a member, click here for a free trial), discounted pricing, and other perks.
Best Buy – Best Buy is a go-to retailer for all kinds of electronics (TVs, headphones, Bluetooth speakers, tablets, computers, laptops, game consoles, etc.) and home appliances (refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, mixers and Suite). The retailer is currently running early offers (through October 31) that will save you over $ 500 on select items.
Walmart – Whenever we talk about the best retailers for Black Friday, Walmart is usually in the conversation. The retail giant has already started slashing prices ahead of the big day with ‘Black Friday Deals for Days’. These amazing deals include a Samsung Chromebook 4 for just $ 84 (a savings of $ 122), $ 10 games and puzzles, $ 5 kids’ toys, discount tires, vacuum cleaners, cameras. , clothes, towels, games and more. Walmart members will get exclusive early access to these offers four hours before everyone else.
Target – Target is another retail store that many shoppers will visit on Black Friday. The retailer will unveil the “Best Vacation” offers every Sunday from October 31 to November 6.
B&H Photo – If you’re into film and photography, B&H is a great retailer for cameras and other gear, and usually comes in handy when retail behemoths like Amazon and Best Buy run out. B&H hasn’t announced any sales for Black Friday, but judging from last year, shoppers can expect to save up to 50% on some items.
Home Depot – It’s not just for home improvements. Home Depot has a huge online storefront with everything from furniture and appliances to power tools and Christmas trees. Home Depot’s Black Friday savings will begin November 1.
Macy’s – Macy’s is a go-to place for big discounts all year round, but markdowns really start to increase around Black Friday. Buyers will find deals on clothing, holiday decorations, handbags and accessories, furniture, beauty products, jewelry, shoes, electronics and more. Macy’s is currently running a “Friends and Family” promotion that allows you to get up to 30% off a selection of regular priced, sale and clearance items.
Sam’s Club – Sam Club’s will offer customers “4 days of thank-you-savings” starting from Black Friday. The subscription retailer’s Black Friday offers begin November 25 (online only). The rest of the offers will take place in stores and online from November 26-28. The four days of markdowns include discounts on televisions, furniture, fryers, mattresses, bedding, smartphones and exercise equipment.
Verizon – While Verizon hasn’t announced discounts for Black Friday, you can expect to find some great deals on iPhones, Android, and other popular devices. Right now, customers can get up to $ 700 from the new Google Pixel or iPhone 12 mini when you trade in your phone and sign up for an unlimited plan. Verizon also offers deals on iPad, iPad Mini, Samsung tablets, laptops and cell phone accessories.
