Bass Pro Shops unveils plans for a new store near St. Louis, Mo.

SUNSET HILLS, Mo. (KY3 / Bass Pro Press Release) – Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s on Tuesday announced plans to open a new destination store in Sunset Hills, Mo. The new 75,000 square foot store will be the third of the outdoor retailer’s location in the area.

Located in Sunset Hills, one mile from the intersection of I-270 and I-44, the new Bass Pro Shops offer a highly accessible location that should attract new customers from across the region.

“We couldn’t be more excited to open a brand new store in our home state of Missouri,” said Johnny Morris, conservationist and founder of Bass Pro Shops. “The St. Louis area is home to incredibly passionate athletes who love the outdoors as much as we do, and we are excited to expand our ability to serve them while showcasing our iconic outdoor brands including Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s and TRACKER. Like all Bass Pro Shops locations, the new store will feature a very unique custom design. Imagined as a tribute to the region’s great sporting heritage and a celebration of Missouri sportsmen, the store will build on the distinctive qualities that define the award-winning Bass Pro Shops shopping experience combining retail with entertainment, the outdoor education and preservation.

Guests will enter a rising glass entrance. A large, airy lobby bathed in natural light will showcase the industry’s leading boat brands, many of which are built in Missouri. The new location will also feature a large assortment of new ATVs and side-by-side vehicles TRACKER OFF ROAD, the fastest growing all-terrain vehicle brand in the United States.

More than just a fishing and hunting store, the retail destination will offer gear and clothing for all outdoor adventures, including hiking, backpacking, wildlife viewing, camping and other related outdoor equipment. A gift and nature center will feature a wide variety of items related to the outdoors, from lamps and tableware to bird feeders and furniture. The men’s, women’s and children’s clothing sections will offer a wide assortment of brands including RedHead, TrueTimber, ASCEND, Worldwide Sportsman, Bob Timberlake and Natural Reflections, as well as popular national brands such as Columbia, North Face, Under Armor and more. again for more choice, quality and value.

In addition to providing customers with the outdoor products they love, a team of talented artists and craftspeople will design the store’s localized imagery to reinforce its immersive outdoor theme. Creativity and attention to detail are hallmarks of every Johnny Morris experience, who is often referred to as “The Walt Disney of the Outdoors” for his talent for creating incredible experiences that connect people and nature.

Unique exterior and interior designs have made Bass Pro Shops attractive, high-quality outdoor retail destinations that customers love. In addition to providing a fun outdoor experience indoors, Bass Pro Shops has a large aquarium and water features filled with native fish species, thousands of antiques and artifacts. locals, hundreds of trophy fish and wildlife mounts, and murals depicting local scenes.

To bring this ambitious vision to life, construction crews and craftspeople will completely reinvent and redesign the former Toys “R” Us and Ross Dress for Less locations into one massive outdoor showroom.

The new location will host dozens of events throughout the year aimed at connecting new audiences – and especially children – to the outdoors. Hands-on demonstrations and interactive activities will be offered such as ‘Gone Fishing’, an annual event that aims to introduce families to fishing through ponds with release, throwing games and free fishing seminars in the area. the goal of creating the next generation of environmentalists. Bass Pro Shops was founded in 1972 when Johnny Morris began selling equipment at his father’s liquor store in Springfield, Missouri.
