Amazon coffee table listing includes “White Supremacy” book
An Amazon listing for a wooden coffee table includes a preview image of the item with a book titled “White Supremacy.”
In images uploaded to TikTok on Monday, user @jojobrwn highlighted the book in a mockup of the $ 159 table.
“WHY AMAZON FURNITURE? The description of the video says.
Users were quick to weigh in on the puzzling image, with some suggesting nefarious intent on the part of the seller.
“It’s not even a real book,” wrote @ boot.lavato. “They could have done anything.”
The list, however, seems to have caught Amazon’s attention. The TikTok user commented on Tuesday morning that the list was no longer available.
Despite the deletion, other ads appear to feature the book as well. An almost identical item selling for $ 117, known as the SSLine Wood Coffee Table, also included the book in its mockup images.
However, the second image was flipped horizontally, making the title of the book appear upside down. It is still unclear whether the image was intentionally altered in order to obscure the title of the book.
The company behind the article is listed as Baseone. Other details about the company include a description in Chinese as well as an address in Chinese, although the item is allegedly made in Vietnam.
Although the table is available in several colors, only the white version is presented with the book.
The Daily Dot contacted Amazon to inquire about the list, but did not receive a response until press time.
